Representative-Elect Stephanie Murphy.

Meet Stephanie Murphy:

Stephanie Murphy is a wife, mother, professor, executive, and former national security specialist who lives in Winter Park, Florida. Stephanie currently works as an executive at Sungate Capital where she is responsible for leading investment efforts and implementing government affairs initiatives. She is also a professor of business and social entrepreneurship at Rollins College.

Previously, Stephanie served as a national security specialist in the Office of the Secretary of Defense where she received numerous awards for her distinguished service, including the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service. She worked on a wide range of security issues from counterterrorism, foreign military relations to strategic planning for the department. Prior to her public service, Stephanie was a strategy consultant at Deloitte Consulting.

Stephanie is also involved in the local community with roles in several nonprofits such as Support Our Scholars, an organization that helps economically challenged young women attend and complete college. She also serves as a board member of Creative City Project, an initiative to elevate the status of performing arts by making it more accessible to the community. Stephanie was a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and an alumna of the Atlantic-Brucke Young Leaders Program. She holds an M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Economics from the College of William and Mary. Stephanie lives in Winter Park with her husband and two children, Liem and Maya ages five and two.
