SemDems August 2015 General Meeting

On 13 August 2015, the Democratic Party of Seminole County was proud to host Congressman Alan Grayson of Florida’s 9th Congressional District as well as Ryan Yadav, Democratic candidate for District 30 of the Florida House, and Julia Coakley, Democratic candidate for District 28 of the Florida House.

SemDems June 2015 General Meeting

On 11 June 2015, the Democratic Party of Seminole County was proud to host guest speakers Anna V. Eskamani and Carlos Guillermo Smith.

Anna V. Eskamani is the Director of External Affairs at Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando. She is a tireless advocate for issues relating to women. She has been a familiar face to the Seminole Democrats since her days as a leader in the College Democrats at UCF.

Carlos Guillermo Smith is the current Chair of the Orange County DEC. He has recently served as liaison between the FDP and the State Legislature, and has worked with Equality Florida. A former Legislative Aide, this week Carlos announced that he is running for the office of State Representative in House District 49, which includes UCF.

SemDems May 2015 Volunteer Event

 On 30 May 2015, SemDems pitched in to help Ms. Connie Brown, who is currently recuperating from being struck by a car, with yard work and in rearranging her garage. We thank Ms. Elva Smith for organizing the event. Below are just a few of the pictures taken that Saturday:

SemDems members stand with Eric Rollings, Orange County Soil & Water Conservation District Supervisor, center, in support of SB 166 and HB 169 to ban hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, in Florida.
Eric Rollings, Orange County Soil & Water Conservation District Supervisor, has been working with area Legislators to introduce and pass bills in the House and Senate to ban fracking in Florida.
Judith Benson, Chair of the Seminole County Soil & Water Conservation District, attended the SemDems meeting to throw her support for bills in the state legislature to ban fracking.
